Anyone living in the United States between the ages of 14–30 and who agrees with our Points of Unity is welcome to join Red Youth Rising.
Points of Unity:
1. Fight fascism as it grows in power in the United States.
- The major political parties keep going further to the right, at the expense of the entire international working class. We are committed to fighting fascism everywhere that it manifests—and we recognize the defeat of fascism does not come from the ballot.
2. Push for progress in society.
- We oppose all reactionary and backwards elements in society, which are dedicated to going back to times of greater oppression for racial and ethnic minorities, women, and LGBTQIA+ people. Fascists and capitalists create and stoke divisions among the diverse working class to create “out-groups” for workers to blame for their problems, rather than the owning class.
- We are committed to active anti-racism. Capitalism and white supremacy work hand in hand, we must abolish both. Wherever racism arises, especially in “leftist” spaces, it is our task to root it out and promote liberation for all oppressed races.
- We are committed to queer liberation. Attacks on the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community must be combated. We actively struggle for further development of LGBTQIA+ rights and protection of existing rights in the face of rising fascism.
- We are committed to women’s emancipation. We oppose attacks on the reproductive freedom of women, and actively partake in work to alleviate the real oppressors of women: the capitalist-imperialist system.
3. Struggle for socialism.
- Our aim is to build a socialist society, where workers own the means of production and have seized state power.
4. Build the revolution.
- History has shown us that the ruling class will not give up power willingly. Voting for reforms or small benefits is not adequate for the radical restructuring of society we seek as socialists.
- We are working to build a movement for the complete overthrow of the current status quo—the capitalist dictatorship—and we know a socialist revolution is required to achieve this aim.
5. Reject capitalist political parties and institutions.
- The ruling class uses the state to oppress and exploit workers, with machinery such as the Democratic and Republican Parties, the Supreme Court, and the Department of Homeland Security. We call for the abolition of these institutions, and our organizing is part of the struggle against them.
6. Unite in international solidarity.
- We are internationalists with no loyalty to the so-called United States.
- We stand in solidarity with all anti-colonialist and anti-imperialist movements around the world. Our work is to combat all forms of imperialism and support working class movements, wherever they form.
7. Organize in the movement.
- Our work is two-fold: engaging in political education as well as practical organizing and action.
- Members of our organization are active organizers and fighters for progress and revolutionary socialism, whether at school, at home, in the workplace, or in the streets.
We encourage young people to join who do not yet have any experience with organizing. Red Youth Rising is an organization dedicated to training and educating young socialists to be strong, life-long organizers in the revolutionary movement.
Red Youth Rising is a youth organization for working people, and we do not receive outside funding in any form. To that end, we have established an equitable and flexible dues system where reasonable funds may be contributed by all for supporting current and future campaigns of Red Youth Rising.
